Adamawa State Advances Digital Governance with Cutting-Edge Technology for Land Administration

In a bold step toward enhancing digital governance, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration, through its State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) initiative, has introduced advanced technology to revolutionize land administration. This initiative underscores the Governor’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public service delivery.

The Ministry of Land has received three Xenox Enterprise scanners with AI capability and 30 all-in-one computers as part of this reform. Presenting the equipment, Dr. Bello Abubakar Song, the State Focal Person for SABER, emphasized that the program focuses on seven key indicators aimed at improving transparency in land administration. He urged the ministry to maximize the use of the new technology to achieve the government’s objectives, particularly in digitizing operations.

Dr. Bello highlighted that the digital archiving of land certificates has already gained recognition from the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, reinforcing Adamawa State’s position as a leader in innovative governance. He encouraged the ministry to leverage these resources effectively to boost public trust and operational efficiency.

Dr. Hammajam Ahmed Adamu, Special Adviser to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on ICT, e-governance, and policy, lauded the administration’s efforts to integrate digital solutions across state ministries. He noted that these initiatives aim to reduce paperwork, streamline processes, and enhance public confidence in government operations. “The digitization of certificates will not only reduce employees’ workload but will also ensure that records are securely stored and easily retrievable, fostering trust and transparency,” he added.

Commissioner for Land, Joab Sahma, praised Governor Fintiri’s transformative vision for land administration. He acknowledged the significant improvements in the ministry’s operations, attributing them to the governor’s forward-thinking reforms. Sahma also highlighted the recognition received from the United Nations as a testament to the administration’s success, pledging to use these developments to attract further support for the state.

Speakers at the event expressed optimism about the ongoing reforms across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). The Fintiri-led administration remains steadfast in its mission to establish a more efficient, transparent, and technology-driven governance framework in Adamawa State.

These reforms reflect the administration’s broader vision of fostering development and improving service delivery to ensure a better future for all residents of Adamawa State.
